Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
At mindglow counselling, we aim to make your experience as smooth and supportive as possible. Below are answers to some commonly asked questions to help guide you through our services.
In your first session, we’ll take time to get to know you and explore the challenges you’re facing. Together, we will set goals for your therapy and discuss how we can best work together to support your needs. It’s a safe space to express yourself freely, and we’ll tailor the approach to what feels right for you.
Each regular session lasts 50 minutes. The frequency of sessions is up to you, but weekly or bi-weekly appointments typically offer the best continuity and progress. For those booking a once-off session, this will be 1 hour and 15 minutes, allowing ample time to get to know each other and thoroughly explore the current challenges you’re facing. We can discuss what works best for your schedule during our initial consultation.
We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full session fee.
Payments are required in advance or immediately following each session. We accept online bank transfers and other convenient payment methods, which will be provided once your session is booked. For ongoing clients, we can also set up a regular payment plan.
Yes! We offer a free 15-minute intake session where you can briefly discuss your concerns and decide if we’re a good fit for your counselling needs. If you prefer, you can skip this and book a full first session directly.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our counselling practice. What you share in sessions will remain private, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or when required by law. We will always discuss this with you if any confidentiality boundaries need to be crossed.
Our sessions are conducted via secure, easy-to-use video platforms, allowing you to receive support from the comfort of your own space. You’ll need a reliable internet connection and a private, quiet place for the session. Instructions for joining the session will be sent to you after booking.
